Happy Two Year Anniversary!

Tomorrow, March 10, marks the two year anniversary of my first blog post on ConnVoyage! Wow! I honestly cannot believe that I've been blogging on the road for two years now!

Blogging in a hostel in Pune, India
I originally started ConnVoyage as a way of staying in touch with my friends and family after leaving EVERYTHING behind in New York City and California. I wanted to share my experiences of living in Istanbul, and whatever other travels I had, with my loved ones. I never thought that two years later, I'd still be traveling the world and blogging about it!

Blogging to a wider audience in Hong Kong
I never even ONCE considered turning ConnVoyage into an actual "travel blog," which is quite evident from my first blog post! Not even a single photo! No wonder my friends and family weren't interested in what I had to say.

ConnVoyage has come a long way in the two years since 2009 and I want to continue making it even better!

What suggestions do you have to help improve ConnVoyage?

  1. Happy anniversary! I started my first blog some time around 2004 for the same reasons (though I had already been living in Turkey for 2 years at that point and thought, um, I ought to let people know what I was up to). I've had a few other blogs over the years, leading up to my current one which is nearly a year old.

I have no suggestions for making it better. I like you just the way you are
    :-)

  4. Happy Anniversary Connie!

I'm so happy, inspired and proud of you all at the same time. If we were in the same room I'd give you a huge hug. Thanks for sharing your experiences, tips and for encouraging others (like me) to be a bit braver and to live their travel dreams.

  5. @Lauren Thanks for being such a great follower!

@Lily Leung (Explore for a Year) Aww Lily, that is such a fantastic compliment and just the thing to hear when I'm sitting here trying to clean and scrub my new apartment in Hong Kong. I may be settling down for the time being but I know this is just another chapter in my life and that there will be more travels and more dreams to come! Big hugs back at you!

  9. Yeahy. Happy 2nd birthday to your blog. There aren't many out there who can say they've kept it up for 2 years. We love reading Connvoyage so keep going! We're the same as you. Our first few posts were awful with no particular aim but I quite like them being there. At least we can see how far we've come. :)

  10. @Annie Thanks so much Annie! I honestly never thought that I'd be "inspiring" people so that's really a wonderful compliment to hear! =)

@Julia Ha! Isn't it funny how when you don't think anyone's reading, you kind of just write aimlessly? Then when you realize you do have an audience, you try to up your blogging game. =) What you say is true though. It is quite nice to look back and see how I started with Connvoyage.
